Lead by Example — Monthly Giving to New Jersey Charities

Public service should be exactly that: service.

If elected to Congress, I will personally donate $500 every month to a different New Jersey charity. Not because it is politically convenient, but because it is the right thing to do.

Leadership should not begin and end with legislation. It should reflect a lifelong commitment to community. Giving back is not new to me. It is who I am.

As a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated, service has always been central to my life. Through fraternity initiatives, we have supported AIDS awareness walks, breast cancer awareness campaigns, and numerous charitable efforts across the country. My local chapter hosts an annual “Blankets of Love” event in Newark, providing clothing and essentials to individuals experiencing homelessness.

In 2009, I received a Dean of Students Award for excellence and service; recognition of a commitment to community that has continued ever since.

At Isolation Fitness, I host an annual charity dog hike, with all proceeds benefiting People for Animals in Hillside, New Jersey. Community engagement is not a campaign promise for me, it is a long-standing practice.

Serving in Congress should never disconnect someone from the people who elected them. I believe elected officials should remain rooted in their communities, actively contributing to the well-being of the state they represent.

Giving back is not charity. It is accountability.

And that commitment will not change when I am elected.
